Walt Disney Worlds Railroad
At the entrance to the Magic Kingdom you will see Main Street Station. An old fashioned steam train which is a fully working replica of an original steam train, which runs right around the perimeter of the park. Here you will board the train and you can be transported to two different stations or just sit and do a round trip and enjoy the ride.
You will board the train and before it moves there is a loud, “All aboard” shouted just as it was in the old pioneering days of the wild west. A running commentary tells you of the things you will see on your journey. There are animals meandering by the river and various tableaux set out for your enjoyment. As you travel round you will see animatronic models of people and animals moving around. There is an Indian settlement complete with tepees and camp fires with children and animals playing by the railroad side. Part of the journey goes behind some of the rides where you can see the people enjoying themselves. You will pass the Thunder Mountain Railroad and here the people screaming on the roller coaster and bravely holding their arms up in the air. You will see old time prospectors mining for gold in the mountains of the railroad.
The first stop is Frontier Land, here you can alight and try out the rides; for example, the Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain or The Country Bear Jamboree show. You could take a trip over to Tom Sawyers Island on a raft and explore. Just a short stroll away is the perennial favourite, The Pirates of The Caribbean. Meet Captain Jack Sparrow and his motley crew and then maybe go on a Jungle Cruise, visit the Tiki Birds or take a magic carpet ride with Aladdin.
Next stop is Fantasy Land especially for the very little ones, Here are the new circus attractions, the Dumbo Ride and the new Under-the-Sea, The journey of the Little Mermaid. Also in Fantasy Land is the famous and much loved, “It’s a Small World”, Peter Pan’s flight, Winnie the Pooh’s Adventure and the Prince Charming Carousel.
Back on the train you will travel past the Indi Speedway and see the young drivers and their mothers or fathers nervously helping them steer round the race track. Following this you will see the back of Space Mountain, a super - fast roller coaster in the dark. Thankfully though, this one does not turn you completely up-side-down as the Aerosmith ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios does.
Finally past Tomorrow Land which features The Carousel of Progress, Lilo and Stitch, Buzz Lightyear and Monsters Inc. , arriving back at Main Street USA.
