Universal Orlando – Part 2
San Francisco Amity combines two sets. One part is the wharves and warehouses of San Francisco’s embarcadero and Fisherman’s Wharf districts with cable car tracks and the red brick Ghirandelli chocolate factory while the other is the New England fishing village terrorized by the shark in ‘Jaws’.
Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue where a Transylvanian castle is the backdrop for Beetlejuice. Also appearing are Frankenstein’s monster and his bride, Dracula and the werewolf. Suitable for older children and adults.
Earthquake – The Big One, a headliner in Universal’s adrenaline alley, the pre-show reproduces scenes from the movie ‘Earthquake’. You are then taken on the San Francisco Bay area rapid transit subway cars to ride out an 8.3 richter scale tremor and its consequences. If you are afraid of loud noises or are claustrophobic, stay away from this one. This is not recommended for young children, pregnant women, guests with heart, back or neck problems or who have a tendency of motion sickness. Minimum height requirement is 40” to ride alone.
Jaws – created with the town of Amity at heart, this is a terror-filled boat trip with explosions, shaking, noise and gnashing of sharp teeth. You’ll enjoy these special effects. Try it after dark for an extra thrill. Not recommended for young children, pregnant women or guests with heart, back or neck problems or motion sickness.
World Expo is located in the southeast corner of the park and has some great attractions.
Back to the Future ride is Universal’s flight simulator ride involving a seven story screen. This is a rock’n and roll’n ride and pretty scary but worth it if you like thrills. Suitable for older children and adults. No pregnant women or guests with heart, back or neck problems or tendency to motion sickness. Minimum height requirement is 40”.
The Alien Attack of the Men in Black billed as the world’s first ride-through video game. You set off through New York streets with your laser gun firing at aliens to rack up points. Oh no, they can fire back and send your car spinning out of control. The ride can finish with one of 35 endings, depending on your points. Suitable to older children or adults. Minimum height 42” Children 42” to 48” must ride with an adult.
Suitable for young children, meet Baby Bop and sing through a clap-along, sing along at ‘A Day in the Park with Barney.’ Suitable for both young children and preschoolers, this is an active and music oriented area. After the show Barney meets the youngsters, giving them a chance for a photo.
