Two centre stay options
When looking to book a stay in Florida a lot of people do not realise that Florida it is a great location to journey further afield or maybe use the base as part of a two centre holiday. For many years we have been to Florida and also used the location to visit places like Miami, Key West, Las Vegas, New York, Cancun and the Caribbean.
Many people find Florida and Orlando (especially the parks) very busy and as such look to bolt of another more relaxing location to their holiday/ vacation. This enables a little relaxing and recharging time prior to going home.
There are plenty of different options to having a two- centre stay. Many of these options don’t cost a lot of money and can be booked early enough to save money. With Orlando being a major US hub airport most US locations are within reach and as there are plenty of flight options, don’t cost too much money. Not only does Florida have the 2 major airports in Orlando and Miami, there is also a large sea port at Port Canaveral where a lot of the large cruise ships go from.
We have personally teamed up a holiday in Florida with trips to Cancun, New York, Miami (ft Lauderdale) and a cruise to the Caribbean. The cruise we did was a 4 day cruise from Port Canaveral to Jamaica & Barbados. This was on one of the great Disney cruise liners. Total cost per person for this trip was around $800 per person. This included all your taxes, tips and all inclusive food. For us it was a great way to unwind after a busy 11 days in Orlando at the parks.
We have also visited Cancun by getting flights out of Miami – Cancun. These flights go at least 3 times a day and are around $200 per person. You can also book flight and hotel to save a little money. We stayed in Cancun for 7 nights after our 7 nights in Orlando. We again found this a great way to relax and unwind and top up on the tan. Cancun has similar excellent weather just like Florida!
Our final trip was to go via New York. This was done as part of our flights to Orlando. When travelling during peak times, sometimes the flight prices from the UK can be quite expensive. To get round this you can always book indirect flights via another US hub airport. During peak times this does save a lot of money. As part of the cost of the flights we booked a 4 day stop over in New York on the way back to the UK. Cost for the flight were incorporated in the flights from the UK as part of the indirect flight, so did not cost any extra. All we had to do was specify a UK flight leg 4 days later.
If looking for 2 centre option, Florida really is a great location to choose. There are plenty of choices, which are not that expensive to choose from. All offer great possibilities to add to your stay in Orlando. Why not try one of the above options on your next stay in your own private villa.
