Twin Centre Holiday
Have you ever been to Orlando and wondered what it would be like to do a twin centre holiday. Being located where it is you could not be better placed to visit other areas of Florida and maybe even another country altogether. Having been to the Orlando area many times before, we decided on our honeymoon to try a twin centre holiday. For our stay we did our first week in Orlando and the second week in Ft Lauderdale.
When booking our twin centre holiday we ended up booking a package holiday from a travel agent. At the time this seemed the best and cheapest option, since we have found that you can do this trip yourself and also save a fortune in extra expenses by booking the holiday yourself. The trip itself meant we flew into Orlando international airport for the first week, drove down to Ft Lauderdale in the middle Saturday and then flew back out of Miami Airport on the final day. We flew with Virgin Atlantic as they fly out of both airports and you can book this easily on their website. You can also do these flights with BA or American Airlines.
When selecting a twin centre holiday I would always say do Orlando the first week and the other location the second. For us this allows us to relax after the busy action packed first week in Orlando walking round the parks and attractions.
When selecting a second location there are many things to consider. Do you want a beach location, or maybe somewhere near the city. Being in Florida there are so many variations. For most the West coast is the main favorite twin centre location with it’s great beaches and great sea food.
For those that are a bit more adventurous might try the long trip down to Key west and Key largo. If you do fancy this long drive (which takes around 12 hours from Orlando), most will stop off halfway around the Miami area.
We stayed in the main beach area of Ft Lauderdale. This area is divided by the sea on one side and water on the other. The beaches were we stayed were directly opposite the hotel and were kept very clean and tidy. There were many restaurants in this area and each one offered a different specialty. Our favourite was the local steak house and tapas bar. Being so close to Miami also gives you the ability to drive there when you get bored.
If you are looking at a twin centre holiday why not try Florida. There is plenty of choice and where ever you go you will not have to drive far. Why not try a twin centre holiday in two villas, one in Orlando and the other on the Gulf coast? Either way you will not be disappointed.
