Trainer for the day (Discovery Cove)
A day out in Discovery Cove is not cheap; by jingos it is not; but it is a truly unique experience well worth ' splashing' out on.
And while you are shelling out for this experience you can go the extra mile and treat one of your family to ' Trainer for the Day' experience.
Well what is that?
The day starts with you picking up a gift pack that includes a water proof camera and a T shirt that proclaims that you are a Trainer for the Day. You then meet your staff trainer.
The dolphin swim is the highlight of the day and you have your own dolphin to get up close and personal with. At the end of the swim the dolphin will tow you at great speed while you clutch the dorsal fin.
You can have a photo taken with a couple of dolphins for a permanent memento.
Next you take your exclusive behind the scenes tour and quiz the trainer about how it is to work with these fabulous creatures all day and ask all you ever wanted to know about dolphins.
Then you could visit the stunning Grand Reef and swim alongside sharks and the deadly lion fish (do not worry, you are swimming close to them but safely behind glass)
One surprising feature is their aviary where what seems like hundreds of exotic birds wheel around you.
During you day you will enjoy breakfast, a full lunch and drinks and snacks all of which are included in the price. Also rental of any required gear. You also get a free 14 day entry to either Sea World, Busch Gardens or Aquatica. For a little extra you can upgrade to all 3 parks. Self parking is free.
Of course some of these things are included in the normal admission price.
And now to the thorny question of how much this will cost. Well, you wil need to lay out something between $398 to $515.
One good idea is to give this day out as a special birthday or Christmas gift ahead of time (sure beats socks or a jumper) or you could start a family fund to buy you all a place. Give up that daily Starbucks or take a packed lunch to work and it soon mounts up.
There are a couple of restrictions; you must be at least 6 years old and if you are under 13 then an adult must accompany you.
And also your physical also health must be good.
