Top Tips for The Parks
So it is your first time in Florida and you want to make the most of your days spent in the wonderful parks.
Firstly, book your tickets in advance so you save some dollars and do not have to queue. Use the O. V. link for this as you get proper hard tickets. Some ticket companies send you a voucher and you just have to queue again.
Next, if you must do a park on your first day, then head for Animal Kingdom. This closes earlier than the other parks so you can leave early without missing the fireworks.
While we are talking about Animal Kingdom, head straight for the Safari. The queues build up later in the day and the animals are the most active early in the morning.
Get to the parks early, have a morning of fun then head back to your vacation villa (do not forget to have your hand stamped) Have a swim, snack and snooze and go back to the park later in the day. The crowds will have thinned out and you will be fresh for the firework shows.
Check the opening and closing hours of each park before you leave as these vary. Also, the wonderful firework plus show at Hollywood Studios is not on every night and you will not want to miss it.
Find out what are the most popular rides and head to queue for those first. This particularly applies to the Harry Potter park at Islands of Adventure.
Buy one of those water spray fans; they have them in the parks but they are cheaper at Walmart. Also remember sunscreen, a hat and a T Shirt that covers your shoulders.
If you are visiting in the winter, stash a jacket or sweater in the boot of your car. It surprises most first timers that they can be in T Shirts and shorts all day and then need long trousers and jumpers when the sun goes down.
Stick some bottles of water in the freezer and stash them in the bottem of a back pack with some snacks. There are lockers for hire just inside the parks.
And finally, my Top Tip; 2 weeks is not enough! it really isn' t. Apart from the 7 main parks, there are 3 water parks, Discovery Cove (to swim with the dolphins) lots of bargains in the shops and the Gulf or Atlantic beaches just over the hour away. If you can get 3 weeks off work, book them.
