Time Saving Travel Tips
Some good planning in advance can save a lot of time when on holiday in Orlando. This is a holiday where time management will enable you to see everything.
If you need a cot or high chair at your villa, make sure you have ordered this and have asked for your pool to be heated if you require it. Then all will be ready for you when you arrive.
Start by checking in on line with your airline and print your boarding passes 24 hours before you are due to leave. Then all you will have to do at the airport is leave your luggage at the drop off point. Mark your luggage with bright coloured labels or ribbon to more easily identify it at the airport in Orlando.
If you are using a car hire company which allows it, book in on line for that too, it will save you hours of queuing at the check in desk at the car hire desk.
At Orlando airport, after collecting your luggage from the carousel and passing through customs, you will have to take a lift or escalators to another floor, then take a train through to the exit of the airport and car hire desks. You will be encouraged to put you luggage on a carousel after collecting it and passing through customs, but this is not necessary and it will only take you longer to retrieve at again upstairs and there is plenty of room on the trains which leave every 3 minutes.
Visit theme park web sites to get an overview of the rides and shows on offer and download park maps to better acquaint yourself with the layout of the park.
So, you have arrived.
If possible, arrive at the theme parks early, then take an afternoon break at your villa. Have a reviving swim in your pool or just relax for a while. Enjoy an early dinner (these are always cheaper) and go back to the park for the evening to enjoy the rides and the night time shows – often when every one else is leaving. In the summer they are open from 7am until midnight. To navigate the parks more quickly, go directly to the back of the park and work your way forwards.
Take advantage of the Fastpass tickets which allow you to book your ride for a specified time slot – usually a return between two hours , for example between 2. 30 and 3. 30. This is a very good idea for the rides which appear to have very long queues.
But above all, have fun.
