The World Showcase at Epcot
This is a great way to spend several hours and is always worth a visit. It can be enjoyed by people of any age and is great for a family day out.
The world showcase is in the Disney Epcot Park, and is built in a huge circle, surrounding the World Showcase Lagoon. On entering is the showcase plaza there are gift shops and the children will love to buy souvenirs here. The attractions around the lagoon are designed to represent different countries from around the world, each one having information of the countries traditional culture, and local goods.
There is Mexico, with a Mexican market area with goods and souvenirs for sale, a restaurant and there is also a charming boat ride.
Next is Norway, with a boat ride, followed by an informative movie, and if you wish to dine there is a restaurant, buffet style, and a café. In the shop you can buy Norway sweaters and Helly Hanson outdoor wear, but watch out for that big troll!
Moving around the showcase the next stop is China, here you will find a360deg circle vision movie, Nine Dragons restaurant, Lotus blossom café and the Yong Feng Shangdian department store.
Next in line is Germany, with its beers and wines, and bratwurst served in the Oktoberfest buffet. You can buy steins, crystal wine and collectables.
The delights of Italy are next; here you will find L’Originale Alfredo di Rome Ristorante, for pasta and Italian specialities, and Alfredo’s café for coffee and pastries.
The next country to visit is America and the liberty inn serves typical US fast food, burgers, hot dogs, chicken. There are shows and the American gardens theatre, where shows and musical performances can be seen.
Next is Japan, where you can pay a visit to the Bijutsu Gallery Exhibit or the Mitsukoshi department store, or you can dine in the Teppanyaki restaurant, or one of the other food outlets.
Morocco is next in the circle, there is a gallery of arts in beautiful Moroccan style buildings, and treasures to buy, fashions, pottery and leather goods.
The delights of France welcome you at the next country, here you can dine in the restaurant Chefs de France, or give in to your sweet tooth in the boulangerie, for pastries, quiches and coffee…. yummy!
Next is England, with its traditional pub, the “Rose and Crown” and take away fish and chip shop. Shoppers can but Wimbledon goods, Welsh gifts, English toiletries and family names and crests.
The last (or first depending on whether you walk clockwise or anticlockwise) is Canada. Here you can see a 360deg movie presentation showing the delights of Canada. . You can also shop for Canadian fashions and other related items. The Le Cellier Steakhouse serves steaks, seafood and pasta dishes.
In the evening you can watch the amazing firework display on and above the lagoon, I would recommend that you watch this, it is spine tingling! A perfect end to a perfect day, (even if you did eat too much! ! ! )
