The Cheesecake Factory Reviewed
The Cheesecake Factory evolved from a small store which was opened in Detroit, more than 60 years ago by Oscar and Evelyn Overton. This small family business grew until 1978 when their son David opened the first restaurant in Beverley Hills California. His aim was to provide his customers with casual upscale dining, the rest, as they say, is history and the Cheesecake Factory now has almost 150 outlets across 36 states with more in the pipeline!
As its name might suggest, emphasis for dessert is heavily on cheesecake and you can indeed visit just for a slice of fresh cheesecake to eat in or to go. If your preference is for a whole cheesecake then that is not a problem it can be boxed to go or visit their website for shipping nationwide, and whilst cheesecake plays a huge part in this restaurant’s success there is far more to enjoy.
For visitors to the Orlando, the nearest location is the Conroy rd location at The Mall at Millenia, its entrance is outside the mall ensuring that it remains open, even when the mall is closed. The restaurant is open 11am – 11pm Mon through Thurs, 11am – 12. 30am Fri and Sat and on Sundays it opens at 10am for Sunday brunch and closes at 11pm.
To get there take the I4 east and exit at Conroy rd (exit 78). Turn right at the top of the ramp and follow signs to the mall, which will be on your right. When entering the car park turn right as the Cheesecake Factory is situated at the far right of the mall, close to Macy’s.
The restaurant is large with additional seating outside, but be warned; it is extremely popular and tends to get busy early, as shoppers leave the mall. They are also happy to accommodate large parties so it is popular with groups celebrating, birthdays and anniversaries etc.
The menu is so extensive that it comes in a spiral, ring bound booklet, divided in to sections for appetizers, burgers, soups and salads, pasta, chicken and fish and meat dishes. There is a section for light meals and sandwiches as well as a lunch time and Sunday Brunch menu.
For an appetizer why not try the Fire cracker salmon, but beware, the innocent looking sauce packs a punch! We can personally recommend the pasta dishes, the Da Vinci Pasta is my favourite but the Bistro shrimp pasta is also good and the Farfalle with chicken in a roasted garlic cream sauce is another family favourite. For dessert the choice of cheesecake is never ending; White chocolate raspberry truffle, Stefanie’s ultimate Red Velvet, White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut, Wild Blueberry White Chocolate, the list is endless and I think I counted about 32 varieties including low carb versions and of course my favourite, Snickers bar crunch and cheesecake……. delicious! Of course, you could always have ice cream and there are several speciality coffees with which to complete your meal.
The portions are huge and you will probably end up with a box! That’s probably the reason why cheesecake factory bags are heavily featured amongst the shopping bags leaving the mall!
