The Advantages of Staying in a Villa
This is a question I am asked many times by potential guests. The first time we went to Florida we stayed in a hotel and although we thoroughly enjoyed it at the end of holiday we were beginning to feel a bit cramped up. During the next few years we always rented villas until finally 11 years ago we bought our own.
Many villas in Florida are larger than houses in the UK so the first thing you will notice when you enter the villa is the feeling of space. The second thing the children will notice is their own private swimming pool and will be eager to venture in before even getting their swimming gear on!
Often our guests are extended families Grandparents, parents and children and it is great for them to be altogether rather than running from one hotel room to the other.
All villas have lots of storage space, ours has walk in closets in every bedroom so there is no living out of or tripping over suitcases. Like many other villa owners we provide a cot and highchair for the little ones hoping not to break up the routine they have at home.
You will not need to take loads of clothes with you as there will be a washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board. We tend to fit into a system of my Mother doing all the washing whilst I take care of the ironing.
The children will not need amusing although there are TVs in all bedrooms should they want a bit of quiet time relaxing on their bed. You normally find they spend hours playing in the pool in fact one recent guest said they had trouble getting them out of it when the parents wanted to go to the Parks!
There is no need to creep around a hotel room not making noise when you get up in the morning so that you don’t wake the children. They can stay in their own bed as long as they like and they do get very tired with the long days at the Parks.
Similarly in the evening you do not have to sit quietly in the room with the TV turned down so that they can get to sleep instead you can relax by the pool whilst they sleep in their own rooms.
Last but by no means least the kitchen. You have a large American fridge that you can stock with fresh and freezer food if you wish, cook and eat what you want when you want and then put your washing up in the dishwasher.
If you have not rented a villa for your holiday before try it I don’t think you will want to stay in a hotel again.
