Teppanyaki Dining Room – World Showcase Epcot
We first came across this restaurant in 2003 on our first trip to Florida.
Situated in Japan at the World Showcase at Epcot, this restaurant is probably one on the best Disney has to offer. Being very popular you may struggle to book on the day you visit Epcot, but you can always pre book before your arrival to Florida. Disney take bookings for Disney based restaurants up to 180 days in advance so if you have a must do restaurant book early.
Also try to book around 6pm – 7.30pm this will give you ample time to have a relaxing, enjoyable meal before the laser, light and firework Show REFLECTIONS OF EARTH. (Not to be missed, 9pm every night)
Upon arrival in Japan you will ascend the stairs to he restaurant where you will check in with the reception, at this point you will probably be told to take a seat as you will have a short wait. You may also dine with other parties as well, Teppanyaki tables can seat up to 10 people.
Teppanyaki cooking is fascinating to watch, each table has one chef, he cooks all the ingredients in front of you on a huge hot plate. The diners are seated around the hot plate, you order your meal and he/she will cook the whole lot in front of you. The chef’s also performs little tricks of the trade to keep you entertained while you wait.
Starters can be a mixture of seaweed, sushi, etc Main courses of fresh fish, scallops, chicken, steaks are all available, accompanied by freshly cooked side dishes including vegetables, noodles and sauces to use as dips. And for the clever ones among you, you can choose to eat with knifes and forks or chopsticks.
Once all the food is cooked the chef will leave you to enjoy your meal, there is know rush, you just take your time and finish in your own time. The Teppanyaki Restaurant is a busy place and you will keep looking at other tables just to get a glance of the fabulous cooking that goes on. If you can, do take a trip here as you won’t be disappointed, you will pay around $100 for a party of four but the experience is worth while.
Fabulous dining in a restaurant where national costumes are worn by the waitresses, the whole evening will be very entertaining and a new experience if you have never been to a Teppanyaki Restaurant before.
Go on treat yourself!
