Bok is ALWAYS worth going visiting but during july and august they have some free activities so it is a good idea to diary those that interest you to give some added value to your day.

There are 2 dates in august for the artists among you. You are invited to paint, draw and create in the lovely gardens and children can ask for a free junior artist set in the visitor centre. The dates to note are the 3rd and 17th of august.
If you have brought your dog on vacation then there is a one day doggie day. Lots of canine information will be offered that covers grooming, health and adoption. This event takes place on only one day which is the 6th of august. Admission for your dog is $5 with half that amount going to The Humane Society of Polk County.
Every friday up and including the 19th of august Bok are offering Ridge explorations. This is an event to explain the eco systems of Lake Wales Ridge. Several environmental organisations will be on hand offering demonsrations and activities.
If you have children with you them visit on any day up to the end of august. Let your child snap away and then upload their photos onto www. bokgardens. org/contast. The weekly winners will be announced on the Bok Gardens Facebook page. Those of you who have ever visited the area will know that the photo opportunities are round every corner.
Another one for the little ones are The Discovery days. Every wednesay up to 27th of july there are learning through nature days. These classes cost $10 per class and last from 10 am to 11. 30 am. The bonus is that an adult can accompany a child free of charge if they are pre registered. This can be done by emailing programs@boktowergardens. org or phone 863 734 1222.
The Palmetto cafe is a good place to punctuate your day and there are activity sheets on their new menu.
The Palmetto cafe serves good food in a simple venue and for Brits who are used to substandard offering in our parks and attractions it is a pleasant surprise.
