Something new everytime you visit the Sunshine State
We have just returned from our holiday in Florida, it was wonderful to get back to our villa and relax around the pool in the hot sunshine. We took our daughters and their families with us this time, our two grandsons, who at one year and two years are a little young to appreciate the wonderful place they are in, a first time for one of our son-in-laws, so it is a little like looking at Florida for the first time again through new eyes, very exciting, and he was very impressed by everything he saw, the cleanliness and organisation of everywhere we visited, especially Busch Gardens, and Downtown Disney, which is a great day out on its own, the Rainforest Cafe is a must, especially for the children, again the food choices and service are number one.
We were pleased to see the growth of communities and shops on highway 27, especially pleased to go to Applebees for dinner, what a great place, food at great prices, and the service as usual was first class.
On one occasion we had to take our youngest grandson to the Medical Centre, fortunately just a touch of too much heat, but again the service even here was excellent, very caring and supportive.
We decided to only 'do' the Universal package, we did not want to tire ourselves out, and there is so much more to Florida than the theme parks, although they are a very important part.
We were very excited to see at Sea World the plans for the new water park, due to open March 2008, Aquatica, it looks as though it will be absolutely amazing, lots of beach area, lots of space to relax under the sun canopies, and of course lots of water slides.
At the Millenium Mall the Cheesecake Factory is an absolute must, the portions are enormous, that is if you can face eating one after you have had a great lunch, again where do you always get and expect such fabulous service, the choices were just outstanding, and of course with halloween approaching, they had 'specials' to choose from - pumpkin pie cheesecake? ? ? ? We decided to visit more than once, just to satisfy our curiosity and taste buds on the many, many choices.
The Milllenium Mall is an amazing place, lots of designer shops, Jimmy Choo shoes anyone? Breakfast at Tiffany's, Macey's and Swarovski, just to name a few, the decor, and the marble floors make the Mall a wonderful place to explore.
Now of course is a great time to visit Florida, the dollar is so much in our favour, our youngest daughter saves Swarovski, and as she celebrated her birthday whilst we were their, we purchased several pieces of the Crystal and saved a minimum of £15. 00 to £30. 00 on each piece, needless to say some Christmas Shopping came into play as well.
We plan to return late April with yet another shopping list - hope the dollar holds out.
