Sleuth's Mystery Dinner Show
As a family of four with 2 teenagers, Abi 15 and James 14, it is sometimes difficult to do something that appeals to both of them! Well the Sleuths Mystery Dinner show certainly did the trick. The whole experience was very entertaining - the kids loved it. We like to make an evening of it so arrived quite abit early - about 40 minutes. This was not a problem as we took seats at the bar and enjoyed people watching and soaking up the atmosphere as you are surrounded with 1930's bric a brac. Sherlock Holmes makes a noisy entrance at one point much to the fascination of Abi although James was looking unimpressed at this point. There were hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and various other nibbles laid out before the show.
We were led into the main theatre for the show and seated at a table with another family who happen to be from Chicago. The tables seat up to ten people and it was quite nice to be seated next to another family particularly as the show was quite funny and we all found ourselves laughing out loud. A real ice breaker! ! We all thought the show was interesting and very funny - even James was laughing and getting into the spirit trying to decipher the clues. There is a break for the dinner to be served which I have to say was a lot better than I thought it might have been - it was nice to see James eat something other than 'burger' . The meal is selected from a menu when you book your tickets and to be on the safe side we ordered two hen and two rib steaks so we could move meals around if one was not impressed with their choice. There is a choice of dessert which was very nice and coffee was served as well. The drinks had been served throughout the first session quite freely but as with any of these kind shows getting a drink in the second half is not as easy.
After the dinner the show started again and had lots of audience participation but only if you wanted to. There were 9 on our table and not one of us guessed the outcome and 'who had done it'.
All in all it was well worth the money and we had a great evening.
When our holiday is over I always ask which part of the holiday did we like best - and this time BOTH kids said the night we went to Sleuths Dinner Show! ! ! So in my book that’s worth every bit of the money we spent.
