Ross Dress for Less...a revelation!
We have passed Ross Dress for Less many times over the years and had never been inspired to go in.
Then curiositey got the better of us and we decided to visit and see what it was all about. Well, what a revelation!
Ross is a blow out shop which means they take ends of lines and un sold goods to stock their shelves. This means it is an aladdins cave of goodies including underwear, bedding, bags and shoes, jewellry, homeware, clothes, stationary oh! and of course, dresses!
In my opinion it is better to enter a Ross witout any pre conceived ideas; If you look for a certain pair of trousers in a certain colour or King sheets in raspberry you are likely to be out of luck; go in and just sort through everything and there is bound to be at least one bargain you want to carry away with you (in fact, my smallest shopping basket was 5 items.
I would start at one end of the store and work your way round in a systematic way; they will sometimes have towels in with clothes or writing paper among the underwear!
You will notice that all the labels have a price on them and a ' compare with' price. The latter label is what they cost elsewhere so you get some idea of your savings.
For instance, last time we were in Florida I got some Playtex bras for $4. 49 each (time to retire some grey-ish ones) I find that they usually have good stocks of bras and knickers; particularly in the big girl sizes. The compare with price on my $4. 49. bras was $27; great deal!
The bedding is also good and usually a wide selection; 400 and 500 count sheets for a fraction of their normal price.
Here I would add a word of caution; I now know to buy a brand I recognise to be sure of the quality; I have had a couple iffy unknown brands.
Now should you be over 55, the news gets even better because they offer over 55s a 10% discount; happy days. So make sure you time your visiit for that day of the week.
The stock comes in daily so if you are near to one I would pop in frequently.
The Ross Dress for Less stores seem to be everywhere; there is one at The Loop for instance and also one at both Clermont and The Posner Center. If you are staying on the 27 Clermont is likely to be north of where you are staying and Posner south.
