Rolling Oaks Boulevard Shopping Plaza
Target is one of my favourite stores, so when we heard that a huge Super Target was going to open just minutes from our villa we were, naturally, delighted.
Just 3 miles from our villa, a new shopping development called Rolling Oaks Boulevard, has recently opened, which has a Super Target as its anchor store. It is located on the 192, just after the new 429 Toll Road, and it is very easy to find on the right hand side of the road going east.
There is plenty of car parking outside Target, and to the right are several small retail units, including a Nail and Beauty bar called ‘IT Nails and Spa. ’ Sparkling clean and with all the most up to date equipment, this is truly somewhere to relax and indulge yourself. Owned by a Vietnamese ‘boat person’ who escaped from the communists some years ago, it offers manicures, pedicures and acrylic nails in a luxurious setting – do look up at the beautiful chandelier when you enter the shop. It is stunning.
However, my favourite store has to be the new SuperTarget. This is a huge store, which also has a large food section – we love to wander round this area – there are often samples of fruit, bread and cakes available, and it is great to be able to ‘try before you buy. ’ We find the quality of the fruit is excellent and far exceeds that offered by Walmart. There is a large delicatessen which sells cooked meats and cheeses, as well as hot food such as chicken tenders and chicken pieces. We also find the meat – especially the steak – is of a very high quality.
Target also sells clothes – both adult and children’s – as well as a huge range of homeware and electrical items. I love wandering down the towel aisle as they have a wonderful selection of towels of all colours at exceptional prices, and I cannot think of a shop in the UK with such a variety of colours.
They have an excellent pharmacy and cosmetic and toiletries section, and a very useful area with travel sized toiletries for just $1 – ideal for taking on board an aeroplane. Children will enjoy the toy section, too – I always manage to find a jigsaw puzzle to bring home and my favourite type are the typically American scenes by Charles Wysocki.
Just outside you will find a number of new restaurants, with the promise of more to come. Longhorns and Olive Garden are already open, whilst Bahama Breeze, which offers Caribbean fare, is expected to open soon. These popular restaurants are ideal for families, and offer a good range of entrees at great prices.
With room for more shops and restaurants this shopping plaza is an excellent addition to the facilities in this area.
