Ricky Ts Bar and Restaurants
If you ever go to the St Petes/ Treasure Island Gulf Coast area Ricky Ts Bars and Restaurant are worth a visit.
Ricky Ts in Treasure Island is located on Gulf Boulevard (opposite the Bilmar Beach Resort) which is the coast road. It is probably Treasure Islands most popular bar and restaurant. Do not be fooled by its outside appearance as there appear to be about 10 tightly packed tables and chairs and room for some entertainment at the Tiki Bar. However inside the Restaurant is vast and you need to go inside to appreciate it. There is also the Lighthouse Bar.
The bars and restaurant have been here about thirteen years and it is a very popular place with the locals. At weekends you can see dozens of motorbikes parked outside.
If you want to drink where the locals do go to the Lighthouse Bar which is located on the east side of Ricky Ts. It is a covered open air typical Florida bar. Plenty of sport from games to races is shown here. You are allowed to smoke and you will enjoy listening to the locals discussing anything from sport to politics. There are people here of all ages and from all walks of life.
It is good to sit outside at night in the Tiki Bar and enjoy the great Florida weather. You can have cold drinks and good food whilst you listen to the entertainment. This place always seems busy for breakfast although we have never had it here. Friends tell us they do an amazing array of omelets with the Crab Lump omelet being their favourite.
In the Restaurant you can get food, drinks, televised sports and sport memorabilia. The latter appears to be popular with customers particularly the tee shirts. There are many televisions in here and they have the NFL package as well as Nascar Sundays.
Last time My Father and I went we shared the Nacho Supreme. This was warm tortilla chips smothered in their own Con Queso sauce topped with tomatoes, lettuce, and Jalapeños and their homemade chili.
For entrée I ordered Lobster Carbonara when this came it was hunks of sweet lobster in a cream sauce. This was piled over linguine and finished with crispy bacon I was delighted with my choice.
Dad had grilled Shrimp Taco’s which came in flour tortillas, dressed with “Cilantro Lime Cabbage” and served with yellow rice and refried beans. Judging by how quickly it disappeared I think I think he enjoyed it!
We did not stay late but apparently late in the evening the Restaurant has some of the best bands the beach.
