Restaurants in the Rotonda Area part 1
Restaurants near Rotonda West (Placida Rd)
One of the things we love most about staying on the Rotonda is the fact that you can BBQ every night if you want to – unlike at home! To me there is nothing better than throwing together a salad while hubby grills burgers or steak to perfection. Afterwards relaxing round the pool with a glass of wine and watching the sun set. Ah bliss! ! But if the “chef” wants a night off there is a great choice of places to eat in the Rotonda area. Many are on or just off Placida Road (775)
5 minute drive
Prime Time Steak & Spirits
5855 Placida Road, Englewood, FL 34224
941-697-7799 or 941-697-7731
From Parade Circle turn into Rotonda Blvd West. Follow Blvd West to the traffic lights at Placida Rd. Before the lights on the right hand side is a small set of shops. In there at the far end you will find Prime Time Steak & Spirits.
Prime Time specializes in Mexican cuisine, homemade desserts, prime ribs and steaks. There is a lively atmosphere with lots of people dining but there is always room for you! You can choose to dine outside in their covered area, inside in one of the booths or eat at the sports bar while watching the latest game.
As soon as you sit down you will be given a complimentary bowl of chips & dips to keep you going. Don’t eat too much as the servings are very generous. The menu has a Mexican theme but they do also have a range of steaks, chicken & burgers so cater for most tastes.
Do try the margaritas (highly recommended! ) and they also have a good selection of beers etc. Happy Hour seems to stretch and is very popular.
The décor changes depending on the season. We visited one Halloween and the children were delighted to see ghosts & witches hanging from the ceilings – great fun!
Hint: Visit the website before you go and print off a coupon. They vary from free starters to money saving vouchers.
10 minute drive
Johnny Leverock’s Seafood House
7092 Placida Rd, Cape Haze, Placida, FL
941 698 6900
At the traffic lights on Rotonda Blvd West turn left on to Placida Rd (775)
Follow the 775 down for approx 5 miles. You will see signs for the Palm Island Ferry on right hand side. Johnny Leverock’s is just up ahead on right hand side.
Leverock’s offers a range of freshly caught seafood such as Salmon Fritters, Johnny’s Shrimp Scampi, Seafood Martinique and Grouper sandwiches as well as chicken and steak. The food is good with generous portions. The dining room overlooks the water and has a very relaxed atmosphere. They often have live music – call ahead to be sure. It is open 11. 30 am – 10 pm and is very popular so best to call ahead and reserve a table.
