Rest days between visits to the parks.

Once you have seen how vast the areas of Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios are, you will realise that you are going to be on your feet for HOURS. Walking around seeing things, standing in queues waiting to go on the rides all take their toll on your feet. Children especially will get very tired and will probably not be able to keep on their little feet all day.

It is always highly recommended to have days off in between visiting the parks or even just taking breaks during the day. You could arrive at the park early, then take an afternoon break at your villa. Have a reviving swim in your pool or just relax for a while. Enjoy an early dinner (these are always cheaper) and go back to the park for the evening to enjoy the rides and the night time shows – often when every one else is leaving. In the summer they are open from 7am until midnight.

For your rest days, why not try a water theme park. There are several to choose from. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are both in the Disney World complex and Sea World has it’s own Aquatica. The biggest and best of them all is Wet ‘n Wild at the top of International Drive.

You could of course just stay at your villa and enjoy some fun in the pool or just top up your tan. There are many other things to do which do not involve so much walking. You may want to just laze around you r villa in the morning and then maybe play one of the entertaining crazy golf courses, of which there are many. You could go to the Boggy Creek Airboat rides; an amazing experience for all the family. You skim over the water and reeds looking at wild life and trying to spot alligators. You could also try a hot air balloon ride for a great view of Orlando.

It is also a good idea to just go fishing or hire some bicycles to see some of the more natural areas of Orlando. It is only about an hour to ninety minutes (depending on traffic) drive to spend the day at one of the many Florida beach resorts. The nearest to Orlando is probably Cocoa Beach on the East coast.
Whatever you do for your rest days, don’t try to do parks every single day, you will end up exhausted and in need of a holiday when you get home!
