Red Lobster
For our family one of the great things about holidays in Florida is the food. We are all great seafood lovers and when we are in the sunshine state we really indulge ourselves. Our favourite seafood restaurant has got to be Red Lobster. We have visited several Red Lobster outlets in and around the Orlando area but our favourite is the one on the corner of the 192 and Formosa Boulevard. We have lost count of the number of times we have visited over the years but we have never had a bad meal and the service is always good.
Whenever we visit at least one of us tries to select a dish that we haven’t tried before but I must admit we all have our favourites and this is our excuse for visiting more than once each holiday. I am a lobster fan and nearly always choose lobster of some description whether it is a simple lobster tail, lobster with pasta or a steak and lobster combination and I have yet to be disappointed. The prices are reasonable and the quality excellent. Hubby enjoys all types of seafood so usually opts for one of the seafood feasts. The combination of lobster tail, crabs legs and various shrimp dishes really makes your mouth water but if you want to leave room for dessert maybe you should opt for something a little lighter! As our daughter doesn’t eat meat she is always happy to visit because of the wide variety of fish available but on our last trip she tried the lobster chops for the first time, these split Maine lobster tails wrapped around sea scallops and grilled on a skewer have now been added to her favourites list. Our son loves shrimp but finds it hard to resist a nice juicy steak so he tends to go for steak and shrimp and says the steaks are some of the best he has had in Orlando. We all agree that the unlimited warm cheddar biscuits (similar to cheese scones) are wonderful although I for one don’t even want to think about how many calories are in them.
We eventually managed to try a dessert on our last trip, just the one between us, usually we are too full to even share. We opted for the “Fudge Overboard” a warm chocolate-pecan brownie served with ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream again not the best choice if you are on a diet but absolutely delicious all the same!
We usually stick to soft drinks and beer to accompany our meals, the strawberry lemonade being a firm favourite, but my daughter and I decided to sample the frozen Very Berry Daiquiri and this gigantic frozen cocktail comes highly recommended, ideal for sharing but not if you are driving!!
All in all if you enjoy seafood of any description I am sure that if you decide to visit Red Lobster you will not be disappointed whatever you choose from the menu. It certainly gets the thumbs up from our family and will be top of our must visit restaurants list for our next trip.
