Posner Park
After waiting several years for the new development at Posner Park, located off the I-4, junction 57, or off Hwy 27, it was with great excitement when I set off for my first visit. It was extremely easy to find and looked so very new. The trees are newly planted and when they have grown, they will look magnificent. The landscaping was all being worked on and I expect that too will be wonderful when everywhere is finished. There are plans for water fountains, outside area seating, theatres and many restaurants. They are also going to be building condominiums and it promises to be a huge concept. There is plenty of car parking space and the whole place has a light and airy feel to it.
The only shops that were open when I first visited were Super Target and Belks. There were others that looked almost ready including Books A Million, Ross, Petsmart, Best Buy, Office Depot, JC Penney and many more.
I was really surprised with the Belks store. There was hardly anyone in there and it was laid out beautifully. There were exceptional bargains to be had from all departments, and I must admit to being converted. I had visited a store before but was not over keen. . The changing rooms were light and airy with plenty of room in them. This was truly great. I wandered round all the various departments and ended up buying even more stuff than is necessary. Well, a bargain is a bargain! !
It was time to go and hit Super Target. This store is not one of those that has a huge grocery department even though it is a Superstore. Needing refreshing before our walk around the store, we visited the Starbucks which is located just inside the doors, with the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee permeating the air. There was also a Pizza place right next to Starbucks which was very busy considering it had just opened.
The store was pretty much the same as all the other Super Targets in the area, but it just looked bright, cheerful and new. The assistants were available for any questions that we had, and considering there are so many of these stores dotted around the area, it was remarkably busy. Again, there were plenty of bargains to be had, as with it being newly opened, I expect the offers were to encourage people to use that store.
After spending a couple of hours on this new development, I am certain that I will be returning in the not too distant future to see what progress has been made. I am sure it will be a successful venture as it is at a great location convenient for many visitors.
