Posner Center
For those of you staying in one of the many lovely vacation home communities on the 27, The Posner Park Shopping Center is proving to be a great place to shop, but would so easily be missed if you are staying to the north of the centre.
The area was once home to Circus World. Later on (in 1987) a baseball park was also built here and the area became known as Baseball City. 3 short years later Circus World closed its doors for the last time and the Baseball Park survived til 2003 when that too lost its battle and folded.
In 2005 this area was cleared to make room for the shopping Centre and out of the ruins has emerged a fresh, bustling shopping centre.
Personally, I do not like malls but do like the convenience of shopping in one place. Well Posner offers the best of both worlds. All your favourite stores are here, but you can shop in each and then drive on to the next one; so easy!
So what is here? Well, there is of course a J. C. Penney with all its usual departments and at the slightly cheaper end , a Target. Target also have a selection of food which is useful to those that are self catering.
Books a Million is where you will head to get some reading material to enjoy on the deck and they also have a coffe shop here.
The dollar shop is the equivalent of our pound shop but items cost only a dollar. You will see people come out with sacks full of goods here. This dollar shop has particularly pleasant staff and is better organised than most.
Rather less well known is Ross Dress For Less which despite it' s rather misleading name actually sells household goods, toiletries, some food items and shoes all at knockdown prices. Ross has deliveries every day so each time you pop in there is something new and on tuesdays there is 10% off for over 55s (remember to ask for your discount at the till)
Crafts people will love Michaels and just along the road from there is a sports shop that often has a bargain rail outside. All in all this centre covers 350 acres and new stores open their doors every once in a while
Posner is located at the intersection of the 27 and I4.
