Planning your Florida holiday (Part 1)
To enable you to really get the most from your holiday, planning it well in advance always is a good idea.
Even before you go it can be to your advantage to plan ahead, if you have small children, some flight companies have twilight check in enabling you to get to the airport the day before and check in, then stay the night at a local B& B or hotel, get a good nights sleep and fly much more refreshed the next morning.
Planning whether you want a direct flight if there are old or young members, or if it is worth forfeiting a little comfort to get a bargain of an indirect flight, remember these usually add a few extra hours onto your travelling time.
What size car you will need is also important, some of the cars do not have as much space in the boot (trunk) as the UK cars so always make sure you know how many cases you will be taking along, more importantly how many you will be bring back with all those shopping bargains!
How long do you want to stay for? a week in Orlando in my eyes is never enough, in fact neither to me is two weeks, but that’s the usual length of stay.
Where do you want to stay ? Hotel or Villa ? a villa wins hands down in my eyes, I could never now go back to sharing a cramped hotel room with 3 or 4 other family members when you could have the luxury of your very own villa, with every amenity you can think of, after a long days at the parks being able to come back to your very own home away from home and swim in your very own pool, my idea of heaven. Cold drinks and snacks in the fridge. The children ( and oldies ) can take a nap while you can still sunbathe or swim !
Depending on who is going on your trip planning where to go is very important. Do you have very young children with you, or older more senior members, they all have to be catered for !
It can make or break a good holiday, you have to compromise and keep every member of your party happy.
