Packing for your holiday (3)
Once you decide on your Florida holiday you will find it to be an easy holiday to pack for. You will find Florida is very laid back when it comes to what to wear, it is very casual.
Tee shirts shorts are the order of the day, I have noticed lately that a lot of ladies seem to be wearing loose cropped linen trousers (sept 08) in the cooler months I usually have a sweat shirt or sweater and maybe longer linen trousers. Even at night people don’t get dressed up, just a bit more smart casual.
You will find most villas will have washers and dryers, irons and ironing boards.
Whilst you don’t want to be washing on your holidays on a two week holiday I would only take enough clothes for one week and wash out for the second.
Also you will find you do not need to take towels again most villas offer towels in the villa and if you go to the water parks they supply them for about $1 hire for the day.
Please remember comfortable walking shoes or trainers, if you must take new ones with you make sure you have worn them in to be comfortable as even in the parks you will be walking almost all day and nothing would be worse than sore feet on holiday.
I have friends that when they visit Florida they take there old ones, buy new when they are there then dump the old ones at the end of the holiday and take home the new ones.
I have always found that buying sun creams in the destination is better than bringing them from home as I think that they are developed for different climates so better to get them from your destination( but that is only my opinion) Walmart has a good choice and prices are reasonable
The only food stuff I bring from the uk is tea bags as I find the American ones a little bitter for me but all other things are readily available, they even have sections with UK brands but be careful as they are quite expensive.
A good back pack is very handy to take with you for your days out at the parks. Also a couple of swimming costumes are advisable.
Before we travel I always have a photo copy of all my documents along with emergency phone numbers for say visa cards, travel insurance and any other numbers you may need. I usually keep these in a safe place in the hotel or villa
Don’t forget most goods are a lot cheaper in Florida than at home so remember to keep some room in that suitcase to bring back all your goodies
Have a good trip!
