Outback Restaurant at Orlando Airport
Before we return home on our transatlantic flight to the UK from our villa in Orlando we usually have one last meal at the airport. Over the last few years we have eaten at the Outback Restaurant at Orlando International Airport.
Outback is located at Airside 4 after you have passed through the security controls and taken the monorail to the departing gates. We have always found the staff both efficient and courteous here and because most guests only have a limited amount of time before they catch their flight the service is also very speedy. What is particularly re-assuring is that the person seating you asks what time your flight is as does your server. Having said that you never feel you are being rushed at anytime during your meal. However once when we were running quite late we went to the Outback little window next to the actual sit down part of the restaurant where you order your “to-go” food. We were served very quickly and the three of us had the grilled chicken sandwich with honey mustard sauce and a side of steamed veggies which cost about $10 each.
Outback Steakhouse is an Australian steakhouse restaurant. Before we first visited I wrongly assumed that they only served steak. Although beef and steak dishes make up a good proportion of what they offer you can also choose from a variety of chicken, ribs, seafood, and pasta dishes. We have always found the portions quite adequate whilst the prices are not overly expensive particularly compared to some airport prices we have experienced over the years on our travels. However from what I can remember the beers were quite pricey.
If there are only two of us we tend to go to the bar at the airport where we can enjoy both a drink and our meal. However be prepared as the bar area does get very busy especially in the early evening.
The menu at the airport is obviously not as comprehensive as a full side restaurant but is still pretty good. For speed of service there are of course quick meals like burgers, sandwiches etc. They do also have some steaks and my Father said the Rib-eye steak which came with fries and a salad was one of the best he had had during his last holiday. His only problem was it took several requests was for the mustard he had requested to be brought to the table! My Mother had a very large Chicken Caesar salad which she really enjoyed.
If you are traveling back through Airside 4 from your Orlando holiday do try Outback you will not be disappointed.
