Our First Ever Visit to Florida - Part 9
So we're through the immigration area after what seems like ages were no so close to actually enjoying our holiday not still not quite there, now all we have to do is collect our cases but as this is Orlando International airport it's not quite that simple.
We find the correct carousel and wait for it to start as normal everyone is stood forward of the line near the carousel that is there for everyone safety this means no one can really see the cases clearly as they get close so everyone has to step over the line or lean over
The buzzer goes off and the carousel starts to move, cases start to appear through the little door it's not long before a very damaged case comes through the door and everyone is looking hoping it's not their case.
The cases start arriving one by one the last case always seems to be the last one off the plane I can never fathom how that works they all go down the checking more or less together and yet one of two always come off last and not with the others.
The kids try to help to drag off the case as always but they're too heavy I have to tell them to leave them alone they can spot them for me but let me pick them up I mean you can’t expect the little kids to pick up a case with a kitchen sink in it, the one their mum has packed!
Right all cases successfully located, loaded onto another portal to be taken to the main terminal while you ride on the monorail so they are all secured ready for the next phase the car hire, hopefully you are organised and have sorted and paid for your car hire when you were back home in the UK but be ready for the pushy upgrade sales at the counter.
Time to locate the car rental desk and my goodness there’s a few different companies so where the Alamo car hire, there it is the one with the big queue ah well never mind best to “get in line” one thing you will soon get used to is Getting in line it’s a national sport in the USA I’m sure of it, they could definitely win a gold medal should it become an Olympic sport that’s for sure.
There is inevitably the couple in front of you who haven’t booked their car and are now going through the endless list of what car to have how big and the upgrade sales speech, the kids are tired and getting grumpy now your almost there but not quite, but it will be so worth it in the end
