Orlando Tree Trek-updated
Want a change from the Mouse? Then head to Orlando Tree Trek.
The adventure park is located just off the 545, down Sinclair Road in Kissimmee. It has been opened since November 2014 and caters for adventurers of all ages with a tree top high adrenaline experience. Parking is easy and the welcome centre is light and airy with a calm feel about it.
The staff were great, very knowledgeable, instantly putting us at ease, whilst completing a safety demonstration, explaining about the adventure whilst getting us acquainted with the safety equipment and procedures, paperwork signed and we were all set. There are 3 sections, one for 7-11 years, (7 years is the minimum age)9-11 and 12 plus years. Children are welcome but there are height requirements, so check the website first.
You can also download and print off the 'waiver form' before you arrive to save time. You need to allow about 2 to 3 hours, well at least to complete the adult course. Each age range section is further colour coded progressing in difficulty.
A great idea was the demo section, which you try first, this give you taste of whats to come and helps you to gain confidence in the instructors and equipment. You are shown how to attach yourself safely to the safety equipment and once the instructor is happy that you are competent then you can go off and try the first course.
The instructors were always near by to shout tips and advice to you, or to come and help if you got stuck. It was nice though to have the independence to just go at your own pace. The great thing about the layout of the park is that each course gets more and more difficult. This means you can stop when you have had enough, knowing that is only going to get harder and you also gain confidence once you have finished one section to move onto the next.
You need to wear suitable footwear, no open toes or flip flops, leave your jewelry behind and tie back long hair. gloves are also handy. If you don' t want to take part, that' s fine, there is plenty of seating and a snack bar, you are also able to walk along the route to cheer on your friends and family.
It was a great experience, all of the instructors were very patient and friendly making everyone feel at ease.
