Orlando Thrill rides
You can’t beat Florida for fantastic thrill rides. With so many parks to choose from there is something for everyone. New rides are being built all the time, so there is always a new one to try. Here are just three of my all time favourites.
Mission Space – Future World at Epcot Mission Space is an interactive simulator thrill ride. Guests are firstly briefed on their mission before entering the launch pad. There are four seats in the rocket and each guest is assigned a different job, the success of your mission depends on how well you perform your tasks, so pay attention! The countdown begins and then suddenly you are blasted into space. Your mission is to land on the Moon but watch out for all those meteors. The feeling is so realistic, you will actually think the experience is real. Anyone who suffers from motion sickness should not ride on Mission Space, although sick bags are provided. The minimum height restriction for this ride is 113cm.
Test Track- Future World at Epcot This is a fantastic new ride and Disney’s longest and fastest yet. After your initial safety briefing riders are seated four in a car and then subjected to numerous safety tests, including bumpy terrain, hill climbing, hair-pin turns, and extreme weather conditions. For the finale a breathtaking high-speed race around a 50 degree banked track on the outside of the building. Hold onto your hats for this one, it is certainly an exhilarating experience, definitely one not to be missed. The height restriction for this ride is 102cm.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney Hollywood Studios This ride is definitely one of my all time favourites. If you get a chance do this one in the dark, it is an awesome experience. This Hollywood hotel is the tallest landmark in Disney at 199 foot. Guests are transported to another dimension, to a time long since forgotten. All is dark as you wait in anticipation, then the windows appear and you have a birds eye view of the park. What comes next is a 13 storey free fall decent at high speed to the bottom of the hotel. But its not over yet, up you go again, and again. The height restriction for this ride is 107cm.
The only draw back is of course the queues, all the above rides have a fast pass facility so make sure you use yours. You can get a new fast pass every two hours, it is absolutely FREE so don’t miss out. Have fun.
