Organic and health food stores in Orlando
Wholefood and health food stores can be found in Orlando!
I thought it would be a good idea and useful for those visiting Orlando to share our knowledge on food stores that sell Organic and special diet foods in the area.
When we first visited Orlando we found it hard to find the products we needed with our special diets in stores like Walmart, although Target stores do stock a small variety of Organic products. Thankfully we came across a couple of really good whole food stores.
The closest one to our house, which is off of Poinciana Boulevard is at the junction of the US192 and John Young Parkway called Chamberline’s Food Store. It’s a small store but contains everything from fresh produce to vitamins etc. . . They are extremely helpful in the store and can give you advice on many of their products or dietary requirements.
The best store we think is The Wholefood Store in Winter Park, about 30-40 minutes drive north. This is a very large store that has a wide range of fresh produce including, fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, and dairy. They have a wonderful bakery too aswell as all the other usual products you would expect to find in a health food store. The best thing we liked here is the smoothie section where they make a wide variety of smoothies fresh from scratch, you can have one made up and drink it whilst shopping! The kids loved them. Also available is the take away delicatessen area, where you will find a wide variety of healthy ready make dishes to take home or you can also sit down and eat. They have a website you can have a look at www. wholefoodsmarket. com
Winter Park is a lovely exclusive upmarket American town where you will get to experience a more typical American small town, people actually walk from store to store! There are lots of really unusual boutiques and restaurants, a small park for the kids to have a run around in and a railway. You can take a boat trip around in the river where you can see some spectacular homes. There is a university too where you can take a walk around the campus and its grounds. Another place to visit whilst there is the science museum.
I hope this information is useful to all of those who visit or are planning on visiting Orlando and who need access to health food stores!
Happy Holidays!
