Nine Dragons Epcot - re-opened
This restaurant was extensively refurbished earlier this year being closed for many months.
We had last dined here a few years ago and the food had been good so we thought we would try the revamped restaurant. The refurbishment looked great everything looked so sleek and up market and we were not disappointed.
The service was excellent our server being most attentive throughout our meal as the other servers appeared to be at nearby tables.
We all chose a different appetizer. I had a cold appetizer Fragrant Chicken. This was chicken sliced and served with a lovely green onion dipping sauce. Whilst the others opted for hot appetizers my Mother also had a cold one, Shrimp Summer Rolls which came wrapped in rice paper with fresh vegetables and served with rich peanut sauce.
My father chose his usual Pot Sticker and he said the dipping sauce whose name I forget was “to die for”. One of our girls had Shrimp and Chicken Egg Rolls, which was shrimp, roast chicken and fresh vegetables served with plum-chili and ginger-soy sauces. The younger girl had her favourite Shrimp and Taro Lollipops.
All our appetizers were good but the Shrimp and Chicken Egg rolls looked the best of all and judging by the amount not left on the plate they were!
When our main courses came the servings were enormous and when we return to eat here we would probably not have appetizers to start our meal.
My Father as he often does chose fish. He ordered and really enjoyed Fragrant Five-Spiced Fish. This was whitefish fillets with a chinese five-spice sauce.
Mother, ever mindful of the need to leave room for a dessert, enjoyed Chinese Chicken Salad. Sliced chicken, mixed greens, cucumbers and tomatoes, raisins and walnuts in a lemon dressing and crispy wonton strips.
I decided to forego a dessert so went for the plentiful Shrimp and Steak. This was delicious grilled shrimp and steak served with bok choy (which I love) with sweet lightly spiced chinese red sauce.
Our older girl who is developing vegetarian tastes opted for a Vegetarian Stir-Fry, Stir-fried vegetables, whole wheat tofu, and peanuts whilst the younger one had more or less what she would have a home, Nine Dragons Fried Rice - stir-fried with shrimp, chicken, ham, eggs and vegetables!
Father and I chose not to have a dessert whilst my Mother and the girls shared Strawberry Red Bean Ice Cream and Caramel Ginger Ice Cream.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and then headed off to the Candlelight Processional.
