New Bahama Breeze on Highway 192
Bahama Breeze is a new restaurant in the chain which opened this year on Highway 192 near Marker 4. Unlike its sister restaurant in Lake Buena Vista it does not have quite the same glamour or feel of the Bahamas. However it is a very clean and well appointed restaurant. The tables are all highly polished wood and the seating is plush and comfortable in the booths.
The menu is the same and is extremely varied and interesting. They have 2 menus, one for lunch and one for dinner plus a children’s menu. There are many choices of fish, chicken, burgers, salads and pasta. There is a separate portion of the menu for each selection.
On the entrees menu there are 2 choices of steak, filet or sirloin and 2 cajun chicken dishes plus baby back ribs all cooked on a wood smoked grill.
On the seafood section there are such dishes as seafood paella, lobster and shrimp linguine and a wonderful wood smoked swordfish. There is an interesting shrimp curry dish and a pan seared salmon pasta dish. There is also a catch of the day menu. Most dishes on the entrees menu can be served with a Cajun dressing if requested. Most of the entrees are served with a choice of potatoes and vegetables.
The burger selection was quite large and very reasonably priced and they were served on a brioch bun. They come filled with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion rings as standard. These are served with French fries.
The entrée salads are many and varied too; there is caeser salad with chicken, steak tenderloin, chicken and shrimp or salmon and mixed greens salad served in a crispy tortilla shell.
The choice of appetisers is huge and can be ordered for 2 to share. There are chicken wings, lobster and shrimp dishes, empanadas, cheese dishes, small burgers, pork dishes, battered onion rings and many more. There is also a selection soup and salad dishes plus smaller versions of some of the main entrees.
These dishes do not come with the usual side salad and bread rolls but I really do not think they are necessary with the food served here.
The dessert menu is very enticing indeed, hot molten chocolate fondant, pineapple upside down cake or chocolate mousse surrounding a chocolate brownie with cream on top. A banana bread and banana dessert served with crème anglais, chopped nuts and cream or cheese cake plus their speciality key lime pie. All designed to ruin any diet!
If you fancy a cocktail before dinner, there is a huge selection and if you have a particular favourite not listed they will make it up for you – just tell them the ingredients. The wine list is pretty good too as is the beer list.
