Mickey's PhilharMagic
This was Disney’s latest attraction when we were last in Magic Kingdom at Disney, and what an absolute brilliant experience this is. For me this is what Disney do best entertain us all with humour, sight, sounds, feel and even smells, all the senses are included, and with their attention to detail it is startling.
The queuing area is brilliantly laid out, and a welcoming relief from the sun and the heat being inside and fully air conditioned. You have the normal queuing system but at the end of the lines they have Posters promoting concerts and performances with their characters and very clever play on words. Reading them soon makes the time pass.
You are then shown into a foyer area where Minnie gives you a countdown for the being of the show, and you collect your 3-D glasses.
Through this is Mickey’s Orchestra but it is Donald that is the star of the show, as you enter Goofy is being Goofy and has mis-laid some equipment or not done something !!!! You take your seat and the show starts with Donald trying to set-up the Orchestra, which does not go smoothly.
As you can image this is where Disney excels and Donald along with you is whisked off through some of Disney’s classis films where we are the guests of Lumiere, we dive into Ariel’s underwater Grotto, we meet Simba who Can’t wait to be King and fly with Peter Pan around London, before we join Aladdin and Jasmine for magic carpet ride through the streets of Agrabah.
In the finale Mickey takes to the stage and comes to the save day, we laugh and marvel at the attractions from start to finish, and in fact went and queued up again straight away as it was that good and saw new items the second time, all in all a brilliant attraction to fantastic day.
As you leave you are reminded to remove you glasses, and place them in the bins just inside the gift shop which you leave through. This as with other rides as exclusive gifts and toys which relate just to Mickey’s PhilharMagic.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic is located in the Magic Kingdom within Fantasy Land close to the Cinderella’s Castle and opposite the beautiful Carousel.
On this attraction Fast Pass is available and at busy times you will need to use it, but if you time it just right then you enter without too much queuing.
