Mickey's not very scary Halloween party
This was our first time in Disney 's Magic Kingdom for two years. we haven't been for quite some time as we have been waiting for our little grandson to be a little bit more aware and now at the grand age of almost three we felt the time was ready-and we were so excited.
I'm not sure about Toby -but he came along anyway. We went on a Sunday-early in the Halloween season-and weren't disappointed. The park was just comfortably full and we benefitted from the small lines on the rides.
We decided to go over by ferry to take in the whole atmosphere and it was lovely waiting for the ferry to come in and appreciate the efforts adults and children made with their costumes. My favourites were the family of 4 incredibles-who looked incredible! Mary Poppins and her partner dressed in red and white jacket to match her red and white outfit and family of 9 dwarves who looked fantastic.
Toby ha dhis little treat bag-but children need not have worried as Disney cast members made sure no adult or child went without. It took all our time to get up to the other side of the castle for the parade and it was fantastic. Not too scary-although I loved the ghostly dancers. Some rather naughty hyenas-came up a bit close-but we just said 'Boo- and they got the message and went away-and that was as scary as it got.
After a quick collection of some treats-it was time to get a great spot for the Hallowishes fireworks. We place dourselves right outside the castle and weren't disappointed. The castle acted as a lovely backdrop with it's ghostly lighting and I personally think they were the best fireworks ever-don't miss!
It wa salmost 10pm by now and our little fella had that glassy eyed look on him when thigs are getting a bit much-but we took him on the Winnie the Pooh ride and Small World that only had a 10 minute wait-and afterthat it was time to go. The fun was still rolling by the time he'd met Piglet and Tigger and we finally got to the ferry for about 11-30pm and it was almost empty.
Little fella stretched out on a bench and was fast asleep when we reached the other side.
I can really recommend this for little ones to join in the fun. It was a great family atmosphere and we avoided the draining heat of the day and huge queues by going on a Sunday. We also saved about $7 by booking on line-so great value at about $40 per ticket and under 3's were free.
We will definitely do this again.
