Meeting Characters at Walt Disney World - Part1

One of the highlights of visiting Walt Disney world is meeting with Disney characters face to face, having your photograph taken and filling your autograph book. If this interests you then there are several different ways to experience this.

Within the theme parks themselves, there are character ' meet and greets' which take place throughout the day at specified times. The times and locations of meet and greets can be found on each park' s daily schedule which you will find on entrance to the park, alongside the park maps. Many of these events take place outdoors and are usually limited to 20 minutes for the health and safety of the cast members (it' s hot inside those costumes! ) so plan your day carefully and get there early, just because you are in line it does not necessarily mean you will get to meet the character if the 20 minutes allotted time expires, although Disney cast members will usually close the line to avoid disappointment.

At Magic Kingdom meet and greets include Woody and Jessie, Pooh and Tigger, Merida and Aladdin and Princess Jasmine to name but a handful. If you don' t want to chance a meet and greet or miss out by arriving after the line has closed, as long as you are prepared to wait in line, you can meet various princesses at Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. The Frozen princesses, Elsa and Anna are the current hot favorites and a 90 minute wait is not uncommon, although you can fast pass this attraction, just remember to book your fast pass early. Fairytale Hall is also home to Rapunzel and Cinderella.

Other guaranteed meetings are Ariels' Enchanted Grotto in the Enchanted Forest and Enchanted Tales with Belle. Both of these attractions also offer the opportunity to use a fast pass.

Of course, no trip to Magic Kingdom would be complete without seeing ' The Mouse' himself and Mickey can be found at Town Square Theatre often accompanied by Minnie or other friends, at this location you can also take advantage of a fast pass.

Another way to meet characters within The Magic Kingdom is to schedule a character dining experience. Cinderella' s Royal Table within the castle gets you your own personal meet and photo shoot with the princess herself and visits to your table from the fairy godmothers.

The Crystal Palace character dining gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal to Winnie the Pooh and his 100 Acre Wood friends.

Character dining at any of the theme parks need to be booked well in advance, up to 180 days, and requires mandatory theme park admission.
