Mall at Millenia
For a couple of years I avoided this mall because I had been given the information that it was just too expensive.
Luckily a friend dragged me along-well not exactly kicking and screaming-but I was in for a pleasant surprise. There are actually prices there to suit all purses-and what’s wrong with a bit of window shopping anyway?
The mall is situated on Millenia Blvd off Conroy Rd. Take the I4 north and you will see the mall and the bridge from the road.
Being the newest mall –it looks very lavish, with coloured lights, fountains and the newest fashions are broadcast onto a circle of LED screens-it’s worth going along just to look.
What is particularly spectacular about this mall is that a lot of the top names in fashion are here-and all in beautifully designed stores with stunning window dressings that are works of art in themselves. There’s Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo shoes, Gucci, Dior, St John, Chanel, Nieman and Cartier to name but a few as well as Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Nieman Marcus department stores and what is so lovely here in Florida is that there is no snobbery at all-the assistants are very friendly and welcoming even if you just come in to look and I wonder where else in the world you would get that.
It’s not as big as Florida Mall-and doesn’t seem to get quite so busy but it is more of an experience. On your first trip your eyes just don’t know where to look. The architects have really pulled out all the stops to give the most hardened shopper a feast for the eyes.
Once you have tired of window shopping there are the usual stores-Apple, Gap, Banana republic, Express, Forever 21 (I wish! ), Godiva chocolates, Nine West shoes, Pottery Barn, Victoria’s secret, Waldenbrooks and many more.
When you are ready for lunch there is plenty of choice. The food hall is lovely and much nicer than at Florida Mall and more peaceful too. If you want to push the boat out a little bit more there’s restaurants such as Blue Martini and The Cheesecake Factory –there’s cottage/shepherd’s pie is scrumptious.
The mall is open from 10-9pm weekdays and Saturdays and till 7pm on Sundays. There is ample parking and it is accessible for wheelchairs with plenty of adapted toilets.
So if you have never been before and you have heard rumours that it is too expensive-take heart it is not necessarily the case-so do go along and take a look for yourself.
