Logans Roadhouse Grill
We always like to try out a few new places to eat on our trip to Florida. This was our first visit to Logans Roadhouse Grill, but it wont be our last!
One tip if you decide to try out Logans, try and arrive fairly early. We visited at the beginning of August and by 7pm all the tables were full, and people were being given pagers. Don’t let this put you off though, as there are plenty of peanuts to nibble on and kids (and adults) can watch the Chefs at work in the kitchen.
One important point to mention is that it is probably not the safest place for you to eat if you have a peanut allergy. Peanuts are everywhere!
Logans is quite a rustic looking restaurant, peanut shells littered the floor as we “crunched” our way over to our table……we soon discovered that a bottomless bucket of peanuts was available to all, just eat away and then throw the shells on the floor…hope our kids don’t continue to do that at home. American pop music was playing and the whole place had a really great, relaxing atmosphere.
The menu is typically American, as you would expect. Steaks, burgers, ribs and salads, along with old home style choices such as meatloaf, BBQ chicken and popcorn shrimp. All served with choice of sides and a bottomless basket of freshly backed warm yeast rolls…Yum!
The children’s menu was quite appealing to our younger daughter, who happily ordered steak and fries. She was kept well entertained by both shelling peanuts and the colouring sheets and crayons.
Our server was a happy guy, who promptly brought our drinks and kept us well stocked with bread rolls, peanuts and fresh drinks. The food was fantastic, well cooked and very tasty. The meat loaf that my husband chose looked really nice and quicky disappeared from his plate, my chicken was just delicious, cooked with a Teriyaki glaze and pineapple, it was really moist and very flavorful. Grandma went for the cajun salmon salad, the salmon was cooked to perfection and served upon crisp salad, with egg, tomatoes, cucumber and more.
The children both wanted a dessert, and chose the little mini buckets, one had strawberry cheese cake and the other chocolate brownie - they were just a nice size and came in a smaller version of the Logans peanut bucket, which was ours to keep.
The check was very reasonable at $65 for 5 (one child) of us including drinks. A very pleasant evening, we will be back to visit here again. Enjoy!
