Live Music Orlando
Live Music OrlandoIf you are like me and a regular on the concert circuit in the UK it is always nice when on holiday to find a venue that provides live quality music and surroundings. Let' s face it Orlando is quite rightly known for it' s numerous family theme parks which are widely advertised, and therefore live music tends to take a bit of a back seat. I am pleased therefore to be able to tell you that within the Universal Studios complex is a venue that is well worth a visit, and that is Hard Rock. As well as the music venue next door is the Hard Rock Cafe.
Hard Rock CafeThis is a great place to start the evening. As the name suggests this is a place where you can get a bite to eat before the concert but it is much more than that. The walls are decked with rock memorabilia, which in itself would take you hours to digest if you had the time. To get you in the mood Rock/Pop music and videos are piped to all parts of the Cafe, and bar very attentive bar staff ensure that you are never too long without you favourite tipple in front of you. They are entertainment themselves and are more than happy to join in any banter with you, whilst preparing numerous different cocktails at breakneck speed. When you think you have seen it all the music video switches to the Michael Jackson' s Thriller and a real life impersonator takes to the stage with the Cafe staff providing support for the famous dance routine. So the mood is set as we move all of 50yards next door to the concert hall.
Hard Rock You can probably guess from the pre-amble that I am somewhat of a seasoned concert goer of over 30 years and have seen many venues in my time. It has to be said that the majority in the UK are to put it politely somewhat past their best and others overrated especially with regard to the acoustics. From the moment you enter the venue you are given the impression of space even though it may be an illusion. The staff as usual are very attentive an when presented with your tickets do not just wave vaguely in the direction of your seats but literally take you there. There are ample restrooms at the Hard Rock and as well as the main bar that hits you as you enter there are a number of mini bars dotted around the various levels. Another nice twist is that once seated staff will advise you that if you want a drink during the performance they will get them for you, saving all those annoying excuse mes as people try to get to the bar. Also if you are somewhat away from the aisle, as is the norm in the US, the drinks get passed down the line.
With regard to the seating arrangements there are the normal stall and balcony areas, but as well there are in the balcony area cafe like tables for two to three guests to sit at. For the concert we attended we had seats in the second row of the balcony and this was the only slight disappointment in that there was quite a wide walk way in front of us and this was fairly frequently used during the performance. It is recommended therefore that if you can only get seats in the balcony it is worth booking them about five rows from the front. That said the acoustics were great and were the finishing touch to a memorable and stress free nights entertainment.
Details of the upcoming events can be found on the Hard Rock website and as well as the variety of live established acts they have a number of performances of classic rock albums. In conclusion the Hard Rock is a modern concert venue which provides entertainment for a variety of tastes in a comfortable environment.
