Live Entertainment in Epcot - Part II
Continuing on from my first article all about the live entertainment in Epcot, we are walking clockwise around World Showcase.
The next venue after the American Adventure is Japan. If the drummers are playing you will be able to hear them as you stroll towards the pavilion. A favourite with the children is the Japanese Candy Artist. I could stand for hours watching her fashion teddy bears and various animals out of candy. If you are really lucky you might be given one of these to take home.
Listen to the traditional Moroccan music inside the restaurant called Marrakesh and you may even enjoy watching the belly dancers! In the Italy and France pavilions there are sometimes jugglers performing. The ones we last saw in France we dressed as clowns and by the end of their act were standing on a huge tower built of chairs. How it didn’t collapse I’ll never know!
As you walk over the bridge towards the United Kingdom pavilion listen out for the sounds of the Beatles. If you can hear “Help” or “Hey Jude”, you can be sure that the Beatles tribute band is on stage. Head towards the back of the pavilion to watch the British Invasion performing the Beatle’s songs from the 60’s. If you fancy a drink at the Rose and Crown pub you might find a pianist inside entertaining the punters. The hilarious World Showcase Players perform in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Adaptations of Shakespeare and their own version of the search for the Holy Grail include audience participation, so if you don’t want to take part, stay towards the back of the crowds!
Over to Canada now and it is the turn of the Celtic rock band “Off Kilter”. Sit a while on the wooden benches and rest you legs whilst listening to the sounds of this all male group dressed in kilts. Beware though; they are very loud so if you have young children with you, you may want to stand further back against the wall. Their act includes high energy singing, dancing and playing the bagpipes.
When you enter the park be sure to pick up an Epcot Times Guide along with your park map. This will prove invaluable if you don’t want to miss the entertainment on offer
This concludes our live entertainment journey around Epcot, but of course you will have to try it out for yourself when you next visit. After all, there is nothing like the real thing!
