Le Cellier Steakhouse, Canada, Epcot World Showcase
Often when we are at Epcot we make a night of it by choosing one of the themed restaurants to have our evening meal. Unfortunately we very rarely book in advance – usually we like to decide on the day where we would like to eat and as there are four of us – two teenagers who often have to be persauded to try different foods we sometimes are unluckly not to be able to get in at our chosen restaurant. One of these restuarants was the Canadian sector of Epcot called Le Cellier. We have called there three times over the last couple of years and not been able to get a table, however on this last occasion I asked if there was any chance of a cancellation and would it be worth waiting a few minutes? Although very polite we were told that bookings were taken well in advance and yes there are sometimes cancellations or ‘no shows’ but they could not know when these would be.
Not to worry, we started to walk away promising to myself I would book next time! ! ! At the end of the drive the young man we had been talking to caught us up to say he had just had a cancellation.
I have to say we were lucky because all the time we had been there other people had been turned away also so I assume it is quite a busy and popular restaurant.
We were led to a table which was nicely dressed and the restuarant itself seemed smaller than I anticipated – probably why they cannot seat too many people. There was a nice ambiance to the restaurant and although there were younger children there it seemed a place that a lot of people had made Le Cellier a special event of.
The service was good and different types of breadsticks were brought while we gave our order.
The steaks are the best I have ever tasted – delicious and tender – quite outstanding. My husband had the pork and although he said it had been good he will definately try the steak next time. Both teenagers had the steak as well and really enjoyed it – (I like to see them eat varied meals as given the chance James 14 would survive on burgers and Abigail on chicken burgers). The desserts looked divine but all of us could not manage anything else so had to pass on these.
All in all Le Cellier was a great experience – not cheap but definately worth the money in respect of quality and experience.
We will be booking our next meal to avoid disappointment and leave a little room for the dessert! ! ! !
