Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal
This ride comes with a warning “You may get wet” and let me say you probably will get wet a little but it’s perfect for a very hot day
Sometimes this ride gets very busy and the queues can be quite long for it so it’s best to time your visit either first thing or around three or 4 o’clock in the afternoon when the crowds are leaving to get ready for their evening meal and before the start of the evening crowds
Essentially this is a raft ride but a very big raft ride with nearly all of it indoors apart from the splash down (yes I did say splash down) at the end
The ride starts out with a gentle raft ride through the jungle of Jurassic park looking at the dinosaurs in their natural habitat gently glide past a huge Ultrasaurus. Spot a baby Stegosaurus and its mother but watch out for the Dilophosauruses, commonly known as ' spitters. ' Yes this should give you a clue of what happens when you see the “spitter”
All of a sudden you are bumped off course into the restricted area “ The Raptors Area” yes you heard me correctly Raptors! now the few among you that know that raptors is a bird of prey and they are pretty big, in fact big enough to think of you as their prey! Luckily there is an electric containment fence to keep them away from you and to keep you safe but this suddenly this fails and then its chaos as they break free, you ascend into the environmental systems building to escape but they pursue you
Soon without warning you are almost in the jaws of a towering T Rex and the only way to escape is an 85 feet drop in total darkness! ! AAAAGGGGGGGGG! ! ! !
This ride is excellent as some of it is done in near darkness you can almost feel the raptors breathing down your neck with the hairs on your neck standing up, although its obviously a make believe ride it is pretty realistic
You do definitely feel like the raptors etc. are stalking you and at any time you could become their latest meal, but at the same time it’s not frightening, and the drop at the end is brilliant if you like the roller coaster feeling
At the end of the drop is a large splash and depending where you site you may very well get wet
Definitely a ride to visit
