Island Of Adventure
If your looking for a great family day out I would recommend going to Universals Islands of Adventure theme park. Islands of Adventure can get very busy, so I suggest buying an express ticket that costs about $30 each (depending on the time of year) and that will let you fast pass once on every ride. This park boasts five different lands; Marvel Super-Hero Island which contains three awesome rides. One is Doctor Doom's fear fall which isn't for the faint hearted as you are propelled up in the air at breakneck speed only to plummet down even faster. The Incredible Hulk coaster sends you into a weightless inversion 100ft up and it gets better from there, the ride blasts you off from 0-40mph in 2 seconds and you end up reaching a speed of 65mph. Defiantly one for the adrenaline junkies. Probably the best ride at Islands of Adventure is Spiderman. This jaw dropping motion simulator takes you into a battle with Spiderman against arch-villains which ends up with a 400ft sensory jump of a skyscraper straight into Spideys net.
If you are looking for a place to go with the younger children I would recommend Seuss Landing. There is not a straight line to be seen in this vivid 3-D working of the books by Dr Seuss. There are many rides for young children in this area of the park, including the fabulous Cat In The Hat.
There is another terrifying coaster in the park called Dueling Dragons. A ride of two different coasters going on two different tracks at the same time there are multiple twists and turns and three very close encounters. I would recommend going at the front of either coaster as it's well worth the wait. In the next island 'Jurassic Park' you should stop and have a bite to eat at either Dinosaur Digs or the Pizza Predattoria or just stop for a drink at the Watering Hole.
Probably the wettest area of the park is Toon Lagoon where there are many water rides. An ideal place to go on a hot day. You might want to take a towel or some spare clothes with you if you are going to go on Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-rat Barges white water raft. This ride is fast bouncy and unpredictable and guaranteed to soak you. The other water ride is Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw falls, which plunges you down a 60ft drop. This is just awesome.
An absolute fantastic park with something for guests of all ages.
