Height and Other Restrictions at Magic Kingdom
When our girls were little I can remember many times returning to Disney with them eagerly anticipating that they were now tall enough to go on a ride only for them to be bitterly disappointed. Therefore I thought it might be helpful to list some of the height and other restrictions in this article.
On the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad children must be at least 40 inches (102 cm) tall to ride. It is also recommended that for safety and comfort, you should be in good health and free from heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. As with several Disney rides expectant mothers should not ride.
Goofys Barnstormer has a minimum 35 inch (89 cm) height requirement.
The Haunted Mansion obviously does not have height restrictions but younger children may find it scary as it is quite intense.
Again all though children love Snow Whites Scary Adventures it may be too intense for very young children.
At Splash Mountain children need to be at least 40 inches (102 cm) and at Space Mountain they must be at least 44 inches (112 cm) tall to ride, this is quite tall for young children. For your own safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by the attraction. Once more expectant mothers should not ride.
For many years our girls used to accompany Granddad on Tomorrowland Speedway and were not happy because they were not allowed to drive. This was because you must be at least 52 inches (132 cm) to drive. However they were still allowed to sit with him as those who do not meet the minimum height requirement of 52" must ride with a responsible person who meets the requirement. For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride. Very sensibly children under the age of 12 months should not ride; I cannot however imagine any parent wanting them to do so.
At Stitch’s Great Escape again you need to be at least 40 inches (102 cm) tall to ride; As usual for safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure.
My Mother has high blood pressure so we used to plan our day so that the older members of the party went on the restricted rides whilst Mother took the girls for something to eat. Now the girls are older she takes herself off with her book for a coffee!
