Great Meals in Applebees on Highway 27
The more we go to this restaurant the more we are impressed with the service and the standard of the food.
Our villa is at Lindfields situated just off the 192 about a mile before it meets the 27. Applebees is about one mile south on the 27 in the Berry Centre so is a great location for us to visit. Their restaurants tend to be in local neighborhoods used by local people as well as tourists.
At Berry Centre there are plenty of parking spaces as well as a “Carside to Go” section. The latter is a great idea if you have a hungry family after a day at the Parks. As well as leaving menus in the villa for our guests we usually keep a menu in the car and phone our order in on our way home. My Father then drops us at the villa while he goes to collect the food.
Inside the restaurants you find numerous wide screen televisions around a central bar area showing sports whilst numerous photos of film stars adorn the walls. At busy periods you may have to wait for a table when this happens we have a drink at the bar. In the warm summer months you may prefer to eat outside.
I must admit we do not watch our weight when in Florida but if you want to Applebees have a Weight Watchers menu which is under license to Weight Watchers. On this you can a 3 course meal and the points are listed for each course.
A great favourite of ours is the Applebees 2 for $20 where you get a starter to share and two entrees, this is really great value. They have recently added two new pasta dishes to their menu:
“Provolone-Stuffed Meatballs with Fettucine. These are Italian meatballs stuffed with rich provolone cheese, smothered in savory marinara and served on a bed of fettuccine with our creamy Alfredo sauce.
Florentine Ravioli with Chicken this is tender ravioli stuffed with a blend of rich Italian cheeses and spinach. Topped with grilled chicken and smothered in our own roasted garlic Alfredo sauce. '
Needless to say these are on our “Must Try” list for our next visit to the villa!
If you want to eat from the main menu I would recommend the Appetizer Sampler to share as a starter as we find if we have a starter each we struggle with the main course. However if you really are hungry you can choose from Honey BBQ Boneless Wings, Onion Peels, Nachos, Soup and Tortilla Chicken Melt.
You will be spoilt for choice for Entrees as you have an excellent choice form Steak to Chicken, from Ribs to Fish, from Pasta to Salads and also from Burgers to Sandwiches.
If we get as far as dessert we nearly always share by getting extra spoons. If you want something lighter go for the Apple cheesecake. Other desserts on offer are Berry Lemon Cheesecake, Maple Butter Blondie and Triple Chocolate Meltdown.
We love this Applebees if you get the opportunity give it a try.
