Florida Trip 2017 Day One
We boarded the Thompson flight after a nice breakfast at the airport and the plane was very modern with plenty of legroom I have to say that the inflight entertainment was very poor with just 6 films to choose one of which was the devil wears Prada from 2006, there were also six 1 hour episodes of tv programs, you could upgrade to a premium package for a five pounds for more choice but it felt a little bit like a rip off, the list of music albums was great though this went some way to making up for it but hey the flights were cheaper than any of the other airline so I guess you get what you pay for.
The flight passed quite quickly I have to say and soon we were landing at Orlando International airport, the captain announced it was a lovely sunny afternoon with temperatures of around 75 degrees a lot better than when we had set off in a wet, foggy cold morning in England.
We went through the immigration process without any holdup we had fingerprints and the obligatory photo taken before we were which have a great trip by the immigration officer and were soon at the baggage carousel waiting for our bags.
Were always a bit nervous at this bag collection because one previous year one of our cases had been taken by accident by someone else, anyway this year all was fine and we retrieved all 4 cases.
We made our way to the car rental and found the Dollar desk, as always there was a fairly big queue to wait in or but soon all the paperwork were sorted and we were heading outside to the garage to choose our SUV vehicle.
After much debate we chose one that was suitable we loaded our cases and got into the SUV, we made sure that we had some change as we pass through several tolls on the way down to the good old Hwy 192.
Soon we had gone through 3 tolls and we soon hit the 192 now thoughts turned towards food and of course the inevitable beer, as we were all ready for that holiday first beer after a long flight, we headed into the closet Publix supermarket and basic supplies were bought and we made sure we had something for breakfast.
I am not a lover of the American Beers like Budweiser, Coors and Miller etc. and as my lad is a recent convert to real ale we were very surprised to find a lot of great craft beers available, the excitement was clear and we spent more time than we should do choosing our beers
Shopping purchased we headed off the our villa and soon were safety unpacked with a beer in our hand chilling at last
