Florida Trip 2017 Day Four
We had to visit Florida to update our tax details as we have a Disney rental villa in Orlando and have to be registered for the tax we pay, but due to changes we had to renew this and we would either have to visit the America embassy in London or pay several hundred dollars each to get a solicitor to do it, or go to local tax office in Florida.
Seemed the best way to combine getting things sorted and get a holiday too saving several hundred dollars in the process so we had already arranged an appointment at Lakeland tax office when we were in the UK and so we got up had some breakfast.
So out came the tablet and google maps and a route plotted to Lakeland, we found a small shopping mall in old Lakeland town centre so we all jumped in the SUV and set off down the 27 following google maps on our tablet.
We passed the little tax office and headed into a little shopping complex that we had found on google maps called old lake land town, it was laid out in a southern style quarter with lots of little shops.
We dropped Will and Karlie off and headed back to the tax office, we were advised we would have to wait till lunch was over despite being told to arrive early for our appointment for security checks etc. , once inside it was all very official and within thirty minutes or so it was over and we headed back to Lakeland old town to meet up with Will and Karlie.
Despite the fact it was November it was absolutely boiling and we went in and out of the little shops before making a beeline for the Coldstone Creamery, which is Shirls favourite ice cream shop.
We spent a fair bit of time choosing what we wanted due to the choices, we sat outside in the bright sunshine eating our ice creams before jumping in the car and setting off back, we had passed a large shopping complex on the way and had seen a Dicks Sporting Goods Store and so dropped off there on the way back.
Dicks sporting goods stores are a chain of huge sports stores and are definitely worth a visit if you are into any sports of any kind and we spent an hour or so there and bought a few items that are expensive or hard to find at home before setting off to the villa.
We spent the late afternoon and evening in the pool and spa and generally chilling out with a beer or two to relax.
