Florida - A great place for a holiday
If you have never been on holiday to Orlando, Florida before it is really a very unique experience. Florida offers almost every type of holiday you could ask for, Theme parks, Beaches, nature trails, water based and cruising. All these holidays are gifted with one of the best climates in the World.
What attracts most people to Orlando is obviously the World class Theme parks. Not only do you have the magical Disney Theme praks designed around family fun and the legend that is Mickey Mouse, but you now have some of the best adrenalin parks in Universal Studios with its great Rollercoasters. Add to this list Seaworld, Busch Gardens and the many water parks, you really do have to spend more than 2 weeks to fit it all in.
What most people don’t think about Florida is Florida also has some of the best beaches in the World (Clearwater & Daytona Beaches). Add that to the Parks of Orlando and you really do have a great versatile location that suits the whole family. Most people tend to spend their full 2 weeks in Orlando visiting Disney and Universal, however there is great mileage in spending some time away from the parks to recharge the batteries. A day out in either Clearwater or Daytona relaxing on the beach is really nice to see another side to Florida. With both beaches being around one hour from Orlando, you really don’t have a reason not to visit!
Apart from the Parks and great beaches, Florida also has great places to eat. Most are reasonably priced and offer a wide variety of food with excellent service. Some of the best places to eat being Outback, Chillis & Frankie and Bennies. Being a family location, most cater well for the children and have set meals for them.
But as the parks are the place most people come to Florida I can’t have a guide without mentioning the best rides and parks to visit. Certainly Universal over the past few years have really invested in their 2 main parks (Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure). At Universal Studios/ IOA there are the Hulk Rollercoaster, Dragons Challenge and the multi-million dollar Harry Potter land. Universal is now regarded as the premier park in the World and as such is one of Orlando's most popular. Disney has four parks in total, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and EPCOT. They also have other water parks which compliment the four great parks above. Although Disney don’t do the big rollercoasters the same as Universal, what Disney do very well is the magical experience and feel. A lot of the shows at Disney are really worth watching and the fireworks at the end of each day at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are worth the entrance themselves. Disney tends to cater better for the whole family and as such is better for the younger members of the family.
Not content with the above parks, you also have Seaworld and Busch Gardens (near Tampa). Both these parks are owned by Answer Busch and offer great shows and rides. If your after state of the art rollercoasters you need to take a trip 1 hour east of Orlando to Busch Gardens where the CHEETAH awaits you. Seaworld also has some pretty good rides with the KACKEN and MANTA their best rollercoasters.
One thing that brings people back year after year is the relaxed pace of Florida, Yes the Parks can be busy, but take time away from them and the pace of life does slow.
As a final point when staying in Florida there really is so much choice for accommodation. From hotels to private villas you really are treated to some great places to stay. Being a villa owner we do have allegiance to staying in a private villa, but in our view they do offer the relaxed part of the holiday a crowded hotel does not offer. Space and amenities count for a lot when spending a long time away from home and as such we always advise people to stay in a private property in a local community. Not only do you get extra space and facilities, you also get your own pool! ! ! ! ! Often at cheaper costs per person than staying in hotel rooms. When looking for accommodation this website is normally a great place to start looking.
One thing you won’t be when you visit Florida, is be bored. With so much to do and see you really do have everything for everyone. With World Class attractions, great weather and great accommodation, why wait to book your next trip!
