Non Touristy Flea and Farmers market

If you want to try somewhere different then you must try Webster Flea and Farmers Market only on a Monday and it gets finished about 1pm so you need to be there early.

To get there you go onto hwy 27 head north until you get to Clermont then west on hyw 50 .You then go on for 20 miles. You go through a place called Tarrytown. when you come to the crossroads in Tarrytown (there are gas stations on each side off the road). WEBSTER is signed Farmers market (to the right). On this crossroads there is often someone selling fresh shrimp (at certain times of the year). Go along this road for about 4 miles the market is on the left on the main road.

You can park on the roadside but as space is limited. There are several car parks charging $2 each car.

You can get almost anything there its not a tourist place.

You can get fruit, veg, bread, all kinds of nic nacs, souvenirs, tee shirts, guns, animals, dogs, birds, bags (designer copies) dentist equipment plus loads more then you go to the far end of the market and there is a car boot market (we even saw a false leg for sale).

Over to the right of the main market is a wholesale section where you can buy lots of things i.e. bed in a bag the same as in Wal-Mart. Wal-mart price $79 Webster price $35 for the identical thing. Pictures for the home are very cheap also, there is also plants, luggage, shoes (trainers), belts, wallets, beanie bears, jewelery.

The very best time of year to go is the winter months when the snow birds are down the flee market is huge and gets packed you will not get round it all before it closes, so you might need another visit.

We have been going for 14 years now and it never changes only gets busier. Also you can only pay in cash no visa so take plenty of money.

You can get snacks ie hot dogs, fries, cakes (old fashioned elephants foot) if anyone remembers them, strawberry shortcake, old fashioned ice cream.

We have found that there is something for everyone. You will also notice that along the way into webster town some houses have garage sales. I also understand that on the last Friday in the month there is a car show but have never been myself.

I do hope you try it I don't think you will be disappointed.
