First Time Travelling To Florida (Part 1)
If you are planning your first ever trip to Florida then firstly we would like to say that you will not have a more enjoyable and fun holiday.
Obviously there are a few basics to ensuring that you take wherever you go holiday such as Passports, Drivers Licence, Travellers Cheques / Cash / Credit Cards, electrical appliance adaptors, really just all the necessities in case anything goes wrong.
My first tip for all "newbies" to Florida is to ensure you choose the right location;
Private villas offer luxury and privacy that hotel / apartment complexes cannot match and you also have the added bonus of knowing exactly where the kids are especially when around the pool area.
There are many different villas and communities to choose from so it is worthwhile taking the time to look around different ones and see what is best for you and taking some of the following into consideration:
Travelling time + distance to parks?
Close to shops / restaurants?
Does it have a Private Pool or if it is in a community does it have communal pool area/s?
The next major TIP is when booking your car hire to ensure that when you book that you have paid all the relevant insurance's such as CDW so as to not having to pay any unexpected extras when you arrive to pick up the keys.
Trust us as this happened to us the very first time time we arrived and to be told that you have an extra £100 - £200 to pay is not very nice after the long flight and trying to control your children!
Nowadays you can upgrade your vehicle type for very little money so it is always an option for that little bit of luxury at little cost.
You will need to be careful in case anyone in your travelling party under the age of 25 wishes to drive as they are subject to extra insurance charges
