Feeling Hungry? Try the Golden Corral
If you and your family have hearty appetites then I suggest you head for Golden Corral where you can eat as much as you like and not make a large dent in your wallet. The choice is huge and the price is reasonable.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in a buffet style. Each meal merges seamlessly into the next, so there is no point at which you are waiting for something to eat.
My favourite time to go is for breakfast. Breakfast is served until about 11 am. At the weekends, and particularly on a Sunday, breakfast at the restaurant is very popular with locals, so be aware that you might have to wait a few minutes to get in. You go via the till, and pay a set price (children are cheaper) for unlimited coffee or orange juice, and as much as you can eat at the buffet. You will be given cutlery and some plates to start you off, then you head for a table. Once at a table a server will ask you which drinks you would like and then you take one of the plates and head off for the buffet.
The restaurant has a very busy atmosphere. The drinks are constantly refilled and if you work through the pile of plates you were given at the start, more will appear on your table without asking. The place is clean and the food tastes good.
There is everything that you could think of eating for breakfast – eggs of every variety, made-while-you-wait omelettes with all sorts of fillings, bacon, steak, hash browns, sausages, pancakes, fresh vegetables, grits, cereal and fruit salad. I’m sure there is nothing you could think of eating for breakfast that you couldn’t find there. After all that, if you still have room there are fabulous cakes, fruit pies and cookies – all freshly baked on the premises that day. If ice cream and jelly is your preferred breakfast food, then you will find that there too, with sweets and sprinkles to put on it.
There are a number of outlets around the Orlando area. We have used the outlet on the south side of the 192 between the I4 and the 27, and the one near the Premium Outlet Mall (just off the I4).
The Golden Corral is not big on ambience, but I would suggest you give it a try, it is certainly quite an experience!
