Favourite Meals in Florida
There is so much variety for eating in Florida I thought I would share just a few of our choices with you.
Breakfast
On the first morning we are at our villa we always go to Shoneys for an all you can eat breakfast. That first morning we are full of anticipation of the holiday ahead and we spend quite a time at Shoneys eating and planning ahead. They have a very good selection of salads (I know it is early in the day but my Mother always has salads here) including eggs and ham. There is the usual bacon sausage and pancakes as well as chicken and rice.
Several mornings during our holiday we eat at the villa enjoying foods that we would never normally eat at home. Dad usually goes to Publix to buy freshly baked bagels they have a great selection onion being one of our favourites. When he returns the hard boiled eggs are ready and to these we add Philadelphia cheese, cold meats and tomatoes.
When we stay at St Petersburg we always go to Beverley’s La Croisette where you can have the most amazing omelettes. You have to be prepared to queue as this is very popular for breakfast and lunch. I will write another guide entirely about Beverley’s for those that may be interested.
Lunch
We do not very often have lunch whilst in Orlando but sometimes we will have a day at the pool and have lunch at the villa then going out for a meal in the evening. This is usually light perhaps pizza or pasta or some of Fridays Frozen Wings or Mozzarella Sticks accompanied by loads of salad and fruit.
If we decide to go to the Parks in the early afternoon and stay until they close we pop into Sizzlers for an all u can eat lunch on the way.
On our last day after dropping our cases at Downtown Disney it has become a ritual to go to Golden Coral by Premium Outlets. There is tremendous choice of salads, hot food, roasts and lots of desserts.
Dinner
So much choice!
For the first couple of nights when the girls are likely to fall asleep early we tend to go to an all you can eat restaurant Sizzlers probably being our favourite.
We love the Italian food at both Olive Garden and Carrabas the latter probably being our first choice.
When Dad wants a steak we now go to Longhorn Steakhouse but do find a better atmosphere here later in the evening when it is not so crowded.
When we stay over at Treasure Island we try to include a Thursday night so we can go to the R Bar for all you can eat Crabs Legs, they are fantastic and as long as you keep eating them they keep bringing more plates of them out.
I hope you enjoy your food as much as we do in Florida.
